Welcome back!

Hello blog, it's been a YEAR!

Geez. My kids are now 3.5 and 21 months, and that's why I haven't posted much, no crafting time :) But now they are getting older and more independent so I'm working on my organizing skills so I can actually have time to crochet. I tend to do a little bit of everything at a time (a little cleaning, a little craft project with the boys etc) and never get to finish of all it....so it feels like a live in disarray. But my husband said he will help out with the housework more, so maybe I can squeeze in some more crafting time, yay! I've got quite a few pattern ideas floating around my head I want to finish, and I've got a billion crochet requests from Ethan.... "Mama will you crochet me a microphone? a light saber? cat? beanie?" etc lol.

I also have been writing, I've completed a picture book written in verse called Laila the Mermaid, and I've sent it out to a few agents, and I've got back 4 rejections so far, but at least I heard something, right? I also have a rough outline of a young adult mermaidish novel.

I DID finally get to update the shop with something! A newborn size bubblegum pink and aqua beanie with a lighsaber applique. I love the colors :)

Cupcake Beanie!

It's 10am and I've already cleaned the house and Ethan is napping! He actually started saying "ni nigh" (night night) over and over and brought me his bottle....so I asked him if he wanted to go lay down in his crib and he said yes! I was SHOCKED lol.

I suppose I should go shower now why he's sleeping but it feels so nice just to relax for a moment.

My aunt, her fiance and my cousin are coming over sometime today to see our new apartment and Ethan. They are bringing pizza and beer....I miss beer :P

Here was a custom cupcake beanie with rosette sprinkles I shipped out this week.

Next weekend we are going down to Laguna Beach to visit Craig's grandparents! I cant wait to take Ethan to the beach! We took him for Memorial Day and he LOVED it, he didn't care that the water was freezing. I would bring my swimsuit and go in the ocean, but I swear....every girl down there is tan, thin and in a bikini. Here I am pasty white and pregnant LOL.

This week dinners are going to be CHEAP since we had to spend some money on the car that we didn't really have, so I'm thinking things like spaghetti, garlic chicken and "goop". Goop is such a terrible name for the dish but it's so easy and inexpensive! I'll post a recipe soon....you will laugh at the ingredient in the "recipe" :P

I joined the Pumpkin Patch Crochet-a-long at Itsy Bitsy Spider Crochet! I have some ideas for pumpkins, one of them is if I can find sparkly yarn....make a glitter pumpkin!

Cupcake Beanie added to shop!

I realize these pictures are terrible, I'll have to get some better ones in the morning light....but here is a cupcake beanie I was *aaaallllmooost* done with for the longest time, so I finally thought I'd finish it to add to my shop! It's a super soft light aqua cake base with soft fuzzy white frosting and pink button sprinkles!

Here is me at 26 weeks! I'm so much bigger then with Ethan....but I'm also about 15 lbs heavier to start with LOL.

Orders shipped, now do I nap?

Woohoo big order is all shipped out and I just got another order for a cupcake beanie! I think I'm also going to make my niece (that's so weird sounding to me lol) one for her 1st birthday.

Now I cant decide if I want to have a cup of coffee and get stuff done around the house....or take a nap. Ethan might be up at any time but I'm exhausted, so I'm thinking nap.

Even though the crafter in me says more coffee!

*yawn*

Or maybe sleep.

My parents came up for a few hours today so I was able to get a few errands done, like going to the grocery store and getting enough (well, almost) groceries for the week!! AND it only took half an hour! If Ethan was there it would of been an hour, minimum lol.

Recipes I'm making so far this week:
(I didint get to a few of these last week, there were substitutions so I'm making them this week)

Tex Mex Cheesesteaks
Grilled Chicken with Lemon Basil Pasta
Chipotle Orange Pork Tacos
Bowtie Lasagna

Mother's Day

Mother's day was great! Ethan of course woke up at 6:30 am, and Craig offered to be up with him so I could sleep in. But I surprisingly wasn't that tired, and Craig had a long stressful week so I just let him sleep in. I did go to sleep when Ethan was down for a nap though!

We went to Chili's for lunch and it's getting crazy taking Ethan to restaurants already. We ordered him the kids quesadilla, cinnamon apples and a milk. He ate only a little bit...all he wanted was Craig's garlic toast lol. Oh, and the Crayons. He loves to eat Crayons.

After lunch we headed to Home Depot to get some plants! I only got a few because it was freezing (it's mid May in California! Why is it cold?!) but I need to go back anyway to get bigger containers for my tomatoes. I ended up getting:

Mint
Strawberries
Jalapenos
Rosemary
2 different types of tomatoes

I also have some seeds germinating, hopefully they will do alright. Last time when I tried transplanting them I lost a few. So far I've got:

Alyssum Snowcloth (from the $1 Buzzy Seeds at Target lol)
Cilantro
Echinacea
Snapdragons
Sunflowers
Basil
Chives

When I REALLY want to get seeds for are mini pumpkins and dwarf sunflowers. Hopefully I can find them in store, I don't want to order them because then I'll end up ordering more then I need to "justify" the shipping LOL. It's "more then I need" because we will be moving sometime this year....hopefully before the baby comes!

Here is the start of my container garden:

For the blanket I was talking about in my last post, I ended up just going for an easier stripey one. Almost like the Seija Set in the Happy Hooker book. The colors will be the same blues and greens, here is an example of a Neapolitan Seija Set I made for my cousin.

I'm not in to huge a rush though since she's not due until September 16th! I have my yarn for my cropped cardi, and I've started to do the gauge swatch, but I've been so tired! During the day I cant crochet when Ethan is awake, and when he sleeps I either take a nap or clean. Or like right now, blog :). At night when he's asleep I'm also ready for bed so hopefully this fatigue lets up soon. The nausea definitely has...I feel so much better then I did. Luckily this time around it wasn't as bad as with Ethan, I was sick 24/7!
